Old floorboards make excellent picture and mirror frames. Years of wear and tear on these boards make the wood really interesting when sanded back and oiled.
Below are some examples… If you have a particular size of frame in mind, please let me know as I make these to order.
Reclaimed wood mirror
From £210
Description
Floor board mirror made with floor boards pulled from a house renovation in Bristol.
The boards, which are fairly old have been sanded smooth and given a few coats of Danish oil to protect and enhance the grain. As you would expect, there are old nail holes and other signs of age within the wood, which all add to the character.
Dimensions
- height: 91cm
- width: 71cm
Price: £210 (based on the above dimensions)

Reclaimed wood picture frames
£ Dependent on size – see below
Description
Picture frames made from reclaimed floor boards. I can make these in any size and configuration.
If needed I can source and fit high quality bevel edge mount board with whatever aperture size and layout that you require.
I use Styrene to glaze the frames as this is an alternative to glass which is shatterproof and U.V. stabilized to prevent light damage to your print or artwork.
