Reclaimed wood desks, popular with individuals wanting bespoke computer desks for their office as well as with recording studios and musicians who want a sturdy programming desk, these computer desks are solid, full of character and will last a lifetime.
The legs can be removed to transport / store and are joined to the top section with large, heavy duty coach bolts which complement the look and feel of the wood. They can be ordered with or without a sliding keyboard shelf, drawers, cupboards or shelves (see below).
Reclaimed wood computer desks
Chunky desks made from reclaimed wood – these are made to order to your exact specifications.
The wood used in the desks is around 3.5cm thick, giving a very chunky appearance. The standard dimensions for these desks is typically 66cm deep and 75cm high, although this is very much up to you. The width is entirely your choice but tend to be between 80 – 150cm although larger desks are possible.
Due to the age of the wood and its history, there are plenty of splits and dents which add to the character of these desks. They have been sanded to a smooth finish and had several coats of Danish oil to protect and enhance the natural grain and signs of distress within the wood. Where possible I have kept original features in the wood, reminders of its intended use and signs of its age. Being handmade and given the nature of their construction, each desk is unique.
They can be ordered with or without a sliding keyboard shelf – for an extra £60. I use good quality ball bearing drawer runners and reclaimed boards for the shelf itself.
